About Cappadocia

Why go to Cappadocia

Cappadocia, in central Turkey, is a landscape shaped by volcanoes and wind into valleys of rock towers called fairy chimneys. People carved homes, churches and even whole underground cities into the soft stone, and today you can sleep in a cave hotel.

See the painted rock churches of the Goreme Open-Air Museum, walk the Rose and Love valleys, explore the underground city of Derinkuyu or Kaymakli, and float over it all in a hot air balloon at sunrise. It is about an hour's flight from Istanbul.
