About this tour
Egypt beyond the guidebook. From the Pyramids out to Siwa — salt lakes, palm groves and the oracle temple where Alexander once stood — then back along the coast via Alexandria.
It’s a long way west, and that’s the point. Almost nobody makes this trip.
Your route
Day by day
Met at Cairo airport by your guide and driver, and transferred to your hotel. Nothing scheduled — rest, eat, and if you're up for it, a first walk along the Nile at dusk.
An early start at Giza before the heat and the crowds — the three pyramids, the Sphinx, and the option to go inside the Great Pyramid. Afternoon at the Grand Egyptian Museum, where Tutankhamun's full collection is displayed together for the first time.
A full day west, skirting the Great Sand Sea, to the most remote oasis in Egypt. Arrive in time for sunset over the salt lakes — the light on the water is worth the drive on its own.
The Oracle Temple where Alexander came for answers, the mud-brick ruins of Shali fortress, a float in Cleopatra's Spring, and a 4×4 into the dunes for sunset.
North to the Mediterranean coast and your hotel by the sea. The Catacombs of Kom el-Shoqafa, Pompey's Pillar, the Qaitbay Citadel, and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Evening free along the corniche.
Yours to spend. We can add the Egyptian Museum, a Nile dinner cruise, a cooking class or a day at Coptic Cairo — or you can simply do nothing.
Free morning depending on your flight, then a transfer to Cairo airport. We'll be on WhatsApp until you land.
