Before you start planning
Are the journeys fixed packages?
No. Every itinerary on our site is a starting point, not a fixed menu. We change the pace, the hotels, the order of the sights and the length of the trip to fit your dates and interests, and you choose how to travel: a fully private trip, or one of our group tours.
Can I combine Cairo, a Nile cruise and the Red Sea?
Yes, it is one of our most popular combinations. A typical plan is two or three days in Cairo and Giza, a flight to Aswan or Luxor for a three- or four-night Nile cruise, then a few days on the Red Sea at Hurghada or Marsa Alam. We handle every flight, transfer and connection in between.
Can MAM Voyage arrange private guides and transport?
Yes. Private transport with a professional driver and licensed English-speaking Egyptologist guides are part of how we work. On a private trip you never share a bus or a guide with strangers and you set the pace at every site. Prefer company? We also run licensed group tours.
How do I request a quote?
Send us your dates, the number of travellers and what you would love to see, through the form on any tour page, our
contact page, or WhatsApp on +20 122 287 5135. A real travel designer replies, usually within the hour, with a tailored plan and a clear quote. It is free and there is no obligation.
Planning your trip
When is the best time to visit Egypt?
October to April is the most comfortable time, with warm days and cool evenings. Summer is hot in Cairo, Luxor and Aswan, but it is a great season for the Red Sea, and we plan sightseeing early in the morning and late in the afternoon.
How many days do I need?
Seven to ten days covers Cairo, a Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan, and a little free time. Short breaks of four or five days work well for Cairo and Giza, and twelve days or more lets you add the Red Sea, Abu Simbel or Alexandria.
Do I need a visa?
Most European travellers need a tourist visa for Egypt, which can usually be obtained online before travel or on arrival. Rules depend on your nationality and can change, so we confirm the current requirements for you when we plan your trip.
What should I pack?
Light, breathable clothes for the day and a warm layer for the evenings, which can be cool from November to March, especially in the desert, on a felucca or in Wadi Rum and the Sahara. Bring comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen, plus swimwear for the Red Sea or the pool on your cruise. For mosques, churches and local villages, pack clothes that cover shoulders and knees, and a light scarf is useful for women. Add a refillable water bottle, any personal medicines and a plug adapter (Egypt uses type C and F sockets, 220V). Your travel designer is happy to share tips for your exact route.
Do you also plan Morocco and Jordan?
Yes. We design private journeys in Morocco, the imperial cities, Chefchaouen and the Sahara, and in Jordan, including Petra and Wadi Rum. Both can also be combined with Egypt in one trip.
Booking & on the trip
Do I pay anything to receive a plan?
No. Your tailored plan and quote are free. We only talk about payment once you are happy with the itinerary, and the payment and cancellation terms for your trip are set out clearly in writing before you book.
Is Egypt safe for travellers?
Millions of visitors travel to Egypt every year, and the main tourist areas are well organised. With private transport, a local guide and our team reachable around the clock, you are looked after from arrival to departure.
Can you plan for families, couples or special occasions?
Absolutely. We adjust the pace for children and older travellers, and we regularly arrange honeymoons, anniversaries and birthday surprises, a private felucca at sunset, a special dinner, or a quieter hotel.
Who do I contact during the trip?
You have a direct line to our support team on WhatsApp, 24/7, for anything from a change of plan to a restaurant recommendation.
